Create Free Event

The Create Free Event Page offers one-page way to add an Event that has no fees.

To add a free event, use the following steps:

  1. Click the Create Free Event link on the Add Event page. The Add- Free Event page opens.
  2. Fill in the fields as described in the table below:

    event categoryOptionalAn event category is another way of classifying an event, usually in a more specific or detailed manner than the event type. An example of an event category might be a site tour, panel discussion, wine and dine, or awards dinner.
    event typeRequiredThe type of program, occasion, or event activity. The Event Type is used for tracking purposes. An example of an event type might be a seminar, workshop, lecture, or silent auction.
    event titleRequiredThe name of the event.
    locationOptionalSelect the venue where the event will occur.
    capacityOptionalEnter the maximum number of people who can attend this event. Max five digits.
    descriptionOptionalEnter a short, text only, description.
    event urlOptionalEnter a web address for the event.
    start dateOptionalEnter the date that the event will start.
    end dateOptionalEnter the date that the event will end.
    est attendanceOptionalEnter the number of registrants you estimate for this event. Max five digits.
    guaranteedOptionalEnter the number of registrants you guarantee for this event. Max five digits.
    pre regOptionalEnter the date on which people can preregister for the event.
    standard regOptionalEnter the date on which people can standard register for the event.
    registration goalOptionalEnter the number of registrants that is your goal to attend this event.
    revenueOptionalEnter the revenue goal for this event. Max five digits.
    early regOptionalEnter the date on which people can early register for the event.
    late regOptionalEnter the date on which people can late register for the event.
    allow wait list?OptionalClick this checkbox to automatically create a waiting list once an event reaches capacity.
    abstract?OptionalClick this check box if you want to associate an abstract with the event.
    post to webOptionalEnter the date on which NetForum should post the event to eWeb.
    remove from webOptionalEnter the date on which NetForum should remove the event from eWeb.
    auto register from wait list?OptionalClick this check box to automatically remove the first person on the wait list and add them to the list of event registrants once space becomes available.
    registration required?OptionalClick this check box to require Main event registration to participate.
    nonprofit?Optional???
    confirm templateOptionalSelect the template NetForum uses for confirmation emails.
    sell online?OptionalClick this check box if you want to make this event available on eWeb.
    cancellation templateOptionalSelect the template NetForum uses for cancellation emails.
    max guests allowedOptionalEnter the maximum number of guest allowed. You can enter up to two numbers.
    Waiver Required?OptionalClick this check box to make the free event a waiver required. Clicking this check box will populate the Waiver Text box. Using this text box, you can add waiver-related text to it. With this waiver required setup, if a customer attempts to register for the free event, they will be required to agree with the waiver text to complete the free event registration.
    insert after saveOptionalClick this check box to return to the Add Free Event page after clicking the Save button.
    keep valuesOptionalThis check box works only in conjunction with insert after save. Click this check box to keep all the values you entered except event code and event title after you click the Save button.
  3. Click the Save button to save your changes and go to the Event Profile page. Click the Save for Later button to save your changes and keep working on the Add Free Event page. Click the Cancel button to lose your changes and return to the Add Event Page.
